"Ohia" is the Hawaiian name for a rare tree that thrives on bare lava fields and grows new leaves, flowers, roots, and seeds perpetually, all year long, across its entire lifespan.

FAQs

How long do sessions last?

Individual therapy a/or stress management sessions last 45 - 50 minutes after the initial 60 minute intake. Couples sessions last 60 minutes after the initial 90 minute intake. Group sessions vary in length, depending on the group's design and purpose.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. Luckily, because you do not need a GP referral, you can see a therapist more quickly.

Do I need a GP referral?

You do not need a GP (huisarts) referral to access counseling help with us. This allows you to be seen more quickly and to plan for more long term therapy work, as needed.

Our office is located in Middelburg, in the heart of Zeeland. For precise location details, please contact us via the "Make an appointment" link.

Are video or phone sessions available?

Because we place a very high value on being physically present with clients, Ohia Counseling Services is an in-person therapy practice. Video and phone sessions may be available when either the therapist or client is traveling outside of Zeeland or is dealing with unavoidable conditions that impact the ability to be in person.
